A lot of sewing machine user has this common problem of thread not sticking to the fabrics. There are several reasons and steps you can take to rectify this you self
- Made sure the needle is installed correctly. This includes using the right needle. Do not use the portable sewing machine needle for industrial sewing machine and vice versa. If you are using lycra needle, you might need to use special needle for lycra
- Make sure the thread is laid out correctly from the thread holder all the way to the needle
- Make sure the bobbin is installed correctly also
- One of the most common reason for this problem is the needle is slightly bent. You may not be able to spot it but bent needle will cause incorrect needle timing to shuttle hook of the sewing machine. Change the needle should be one of first things you do
If all steps above have been done, then the machine timing itself might have been off. You have to take the machine to a sewing machine mechanics to be fixed
